LaRob previously served as the Learning and Creative Engagement (Lyric Unlimited) Department Coordinator at Lyric Opera of Chicago, which saught to “provide a range of programs designed to stimulate curiosity, explore new formats, and make connections between opera and everyday life”. He was the Program Manager for the Youth Opera Council - a group of opera-loving high school-aged participants and works closely with Chicago Public Schools to ensure access to productions, teaching artists, and educational resources.

In October of 2019, he led the production of a community event dedicated to highlighting Black Artistry in opera and engaging with the Black Community (Lawrence Brownlee & Friends) which was later revamped as Lyric sought to create virtual programming. LaRob led Lyric’s Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism Working Group to formulate a letter of actionable steps to hold Executive Leadership accountable for the company’s commitment to systematic, organizational, and artistic equity, and continues this work as a consultant for various Chicago organizations.
